Ocean under stress, evidence goes to Rio +20
Professor Carol Turley and colleagues have been presenting evidence from the LWEC-accredited UK Ocean Acidification Research programme at Rio + 20, The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development.
At a special Oceans Day, they were able to discuss evidence of changes in ocean acidity, temperature and oxygen levels that are having an impact on marine life, from corals to plankton.
The team have also been using a simple leaflet, "Hot, Sour and Breathless" to summarise their message. They will be participating in several side events at Rio +20 directed at delegates from the US and other European Countries.
You can download the leaflet below and/or visit the Oceans Under Stress website.
