The first conference of CliMathNet, an EPSRC-funded LWEC network that aims to break down barriers between researchers in Mathematics, Statistics and Climate Sciences is due to take place from 1st to 5th July in Exeter. A new series of high profile Policy and Practice Notes is being developed to draw out conclusions and recommendations from LWEC research. The notes will present key findings in non-technical language for public, private and third sector audiences and will build on the success of the popular Relu publications which are their model. For LWEC researchers the series will provide a key channel for generating impact as well as an opportunity to work with a professional team of writers and editors. |

Researchers at the Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy have produced a National Adaptation Programme which sets out easy wins for government in England. One of the recommended no-regrets actions which businesses and householders can take straight away is anything which conserves water. The report, which can be downloaded below, sets out 12 priority actions for government and has been provided as a counterpoint to Defra’s upcoming National Adaptation Programme.
