Medical Research Council
The Medical Research Council (MRC) is a publicly-funded organisation dedicated to improving human health. The MRC supports research across the entire spectrum of medical sciences, in universities and hospitals, in its own units and institutes in the UK, and in its units in Africa.
The heart of the MRC's mission is to improve human health through world-class medical research. To achieve this, the MRC supports research across the biomedical spectrum, from fundamental lab-based science to clinical trials, and in all major disease areas. The MRC works closely with the NHS and the UK Health Departments to deliver its mission, and gives a high priority to research that is likely to make a real difference to clinical practice and the health of the population.
Carolina Mailhos from the Medical Research Council says 'success of Living With Environmental Change for the Medical Research Council would be making it easier for the MRC to deliver enhanced partnership working. This includes helping to identify key, cross-cutting environment and health research challenges and priorities and the practical aspect of minimising the administrative burden for MRC to manage and participate in partnerships brokered by Living With Environmental Change.'
