Bio

Dr Caroline Batchelor is Senior Manager for Infrastructure and the Environment at the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, (EPSRC)
My main role within EPSRC is to have an awareness of all research and strategies related to Infrastructure and the Environment. I have responsibility for EPSRCs engagement with the Living with Environmental Change (LWEC) partnership, and sit on both the Resources and the Infrastructure Challenge steering groups.  Key aspects of my portfolio include overseeing the Sustainable Urban Environments (SUE) and the Adaptation and Resilience to a Changing Climate (ARCC) programmes; working across the research councils to address research needs in water; and working across government to address research needs around Infrastructure.  A significant portion of my role is focussed on ensuring that users of research are as aware of, and engaged with, the great research we support so that we can maximise the benefit of our investments.
