Colin Drummond

Bio

Chief Executive of Viridor Waste and an Executive Director of Pennon Group PLC since 1993.

Pennon Group operates and invests in water and sewerage services, waste management and renewable energy. It has assets of around £3.5 billion and a workforce of over 4,000 people. Pennon Group’s business is operated through two main subsidiaries:

• South West Water Limited holds the water and sewerage appointments for Devon, Cornwall and parts of Dorset and Somerset.
• Viridor Limited is one of the leading waste management and renewable energy businesses in the United Kingdom.

Colin is chair of the CBI's South West Region Environment Committee, in which capacity he is a member of South West River Basin Liaison Panel. Colin is also Chairman of the Government's Environmental Sector Advisory Group, which provides strategic advice to the government on promotion of exports and inward investment in the UK environmental sector, and a Director of Sustainability South West.

He has an MA from Oxford and MBA from Harvard where he held a Harkness Fellowship. He recently appeared in Channel 4 Undercover Boss.

Colin Drummond is chair of the Living with Environmental Change Business Advisory Board.
