Lord Selborne

Bio

The Earl of  Selborne GBE FRS is a hereditary (elected) member of the United Kingdom's House of Lords and a past chairman of its Select Committee on Science and Technology. 

He chairs the Foundation for Science and Technology. He is  Chairman of Blackmoor Estate Ltd, a  farming company with interests in fruit growing and packing, nursery produce and arable farming.

He has previously served as Chancellor of the University of Southampton, President of the Royal Geographical Society, Chairman of the Joint Nature Conservation Committee, Chairman of the Agricultural and Food Research Council and Chairman of Trustees of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. He was President of the Royal Agricultural Society of England in 1987 /88.

Lord Selborne chairs the Partners Board of Living with Environmental Change.
