Executive Director with responsibility for Gas Distribution, National Grid.

Mark joined National Grid in 1989 from BNFL. Previously Chief Operating Officer of the UK gas distribution business, he has played a key role in helping to restructure the UK gas distribution market through the gas networks sale and the creation of National Grid’s new gas distribution business.

National Grid is an international electricity and gas company. It owns the high-voltage electricity transmission network in England and Wales and operates the system across Great Britain. It also owns and operates the high pressure gas transmission system in Britain and its distribution business delivers gas to 11 million homes and businesses.

Mark Fairbairn is a member of the Living with Environmental Change Business Advisory Board.
