Bio

Dr Mike Lant is Global Licensing Manager, Syngenta.

As Global Licensing Manager at Syngenta, Mike’s role is to identify, evaluate, communicate and pursue new chemistry related technologies and acquire chemically diverse compounds for screening and evaluating from external partners. 

A major part of the role is leading and carrying out negotiations and producing appropriate agreements. Mike works very closely with senior scientists, lawyers and external partners. He is also part of the Syngenta team developing opportunities in China and he works closely with the UK Research Councils and the Technology Strategy Board.

Mike has ten years experience in Global Licensing and before that he was International Function Lead for the Analytical and Spectroscopy Function.  

He has also worked as a Group Leader in Development for Syngenta carrying out various tasks which included working closely with the Business Teams and carrying out negotiations with regulators in order to defend key products.

Mike Lant is a member of the Living with Environmental Change Business Advisory Board.
