British Maritime Technologies is a multi-disciplinary consultancy, operating on a global basis and serving clients in the energy, transport, defence, ports and construction sectors. The company operates through a number of subsidiary companies each focused on particular markets, technologies or geographical areas.

BMT was established in 1985 by bringing together research and technology organisations that traced their roots back to the beginning of the 20th century. BMT has grown a wide range of business services to assist companies and governments investing in major capital projects and seeking to operate their businesses in the most cost-effective, safe, reliable and environmentally responsible manner.
