Stephen Daniels is Professor of Cultural Geography at the University of Nottingham, where he has worked since 1980. He is a Fellow of the British Academy and since 2005 has been Director of the Arts and Humanities Research Council’s programme in Landscape and Environment. He has published widely on the history and theory of landscape imagery and design. His books include The Iconography of Landscape (CUP 1988) co-edited with Denis Cosgrove, Fields of Vision (Polity 1992), Joseph Wright (Tate 1999) and Humphry Repton: Landscape Gardening and the Geography of Georgian England (Yale UP 1999), and the exhibition catalogues Art of the Garden (Tate 2004) and Paul Sandby: Picturing Britain (Royal Academy 2009).
